This is pretty far west for a Bernoudy, though 17 Bellerive CCGs is lovely. I really am not a fan of this new rage to put flat screen tvs on your wall. Yours for $1,750,000.

Wow Ted,
That house is amazing. Seems much closer to the asking price than some of the more recent Bernoudy offerings. I think the updates are tasteful and the landscaping/pond complete the dream package. I hope they end up having an open house for us gawkers.

I contacted the realtor today to get a brochure. I love the house, but would not live in the grounds. Do you know that they had the nerve to take the land from the Hunter Farms back in the day so that they could expand and then when they wanted to join, they charged them the new member fee..... :(

My husband and I purchased this house in 2006 simply because we could not see the home become another tear-down. We lived and breathed the home for more than a year of remodeling.
The home will be open today, Sunday, May 18th - 1-3PM. Bernoudy Gawkers Welcome!
BTW, sorry for the flat screen TV, but the home was remodeled to live in today's environment....we have a computer in the den and the kitchen too! (One must have a sense of humor when taking on a large scale renovation of this kind.)
Didn't realize Bellerive Country Club's involvement with Hunter Farms. Personally, Lee Hunter was astute enough that I am sure he wasn't "had" by the Club.
As a side note, today you don't have to be a member of the Club to own property in Bellerive Country Club Grounds.
Wish more people loved preserving great homes rather than throwing them under the bulldozer.

Lorraine,
Thank you for saving this house and making it wonderful. My parents live in the Bernoudy that he built for himself off of Litzsinger. I plan on living in it myself someday...hopefully not soon so my parents can enjoy it for a while more. My ex-wife's parents lived at #6 Bellerive CCGs for years. Did you know that Bellerive CC use to be where the UMSL campus is now?

As an architecture student at WU in the early 1960's, I remember "checking out" this new, flat-roofed Bernoudy under construction at Bellerive CC Grounds. The Forrestal family originally hired Bernoudy to design this striking home. Needless to say it was quite a bold move in such a conservative clime! Though the pool might be a bit much, the home itself still looks terrific!

This house is so amazing. You could move in to this house with any kind of furnishings you have and they would look wonderful. The house has such a serene feel to it, so tastefully done---elegant and thoughtful simplicity. This is definitely a one of a kind "wow" home.

A property worth $1.7M is just interesting to see. No wonder this house and lot cost much. The living room, kitchen and garden looks awesome. The furniture are great, not to mention the floors and walls.
