Don't Miss Out! Dada Ball & Bash May 16th

Don't miss out on the Dada Ball and Bash put on by CAM. Inspired by the original Dadaists of the early twentieth century, this year’s Dada Ball celebrates the unexpected, ironic, and playful. The event will take place at the Koken Art Factory, in Fox Park, and feature avant-garde cuisine by world-renowned chef and food futurist Homaro Cantu, a boxing ring as stage, and surprise entertainment throughout the night. Pioneering Dadaist Marcel Duchamp (1887–1968) will serve as honorary chair. All proceeds benefit CAM’s groundbreaking exhibitions and education programs.

Julie L. Sloan is a noted stained glass scholar and conservator, and the preeminent authority on Wright’s leaded glass. She will speak on “Light Screens: The Leaded Glass of Frank Lloyd Wright.“
 
Virtually all of Frank Lloyd Wright’s buildings from the Prairie period were designed with art glass in the majority of their windows. Working at the same time as Louis Comfort Tiffany, Wright produced at least 4,500 leaded-glass windows. His use of clear glass in abstract designs and as an architectural element was as revolutionary as Tiffany’s use of opalescent glass.

Clementine's Naughty and Nice Creamery

Yesterday I attended Tasteful Affair to benefit Food Outreach at the Four Seasons. One of the highlights was tasting the ice cream delights of Clementine's.  They are opening in early May at 1637 South Eighteenth Street in Lafayette Square. I tried their non-alcoholic Key Lime and Chocolate Heaven ice cream....they also had some yummy "boozy" flavors like Moscow Mule.  I can't wait for them to open!

Crystal Bridges Field Trip

Over the weekend I traveled down to Bentonville with a group of friends to see the Crystal Bridges Museum. The occasion was my birthday. It was well worth the trip!  We had a lovely dinner at The Hive restaurant located in the cool 23C Hotel. Brunch the next day at Tusk and Trotter....a quick view of the Walton Walmart Museum and then back to St. Louis.
