Selected
from the extensive private collection of Kyrle Boldt, III, this exhibit
of exquisite and rare architectural renderings and hand-drawn
perspectives showcases the amazing talents of some of St. Louis' most
accomplished architects and draftsmen. Beginning with a rendering of
the Tuholske Surgical Institute (ca. 1890) by architect John Ludwig Wees
(1861-1942) the exhibit spans most of the 20th century and
contains examples of residential, commercial and industrial designs from
the offices of such masters as Hefenstellar, Hirsch and Watson, Charles
Eames, James Murphy, William Adair Bernoudy, Isadore Shank, Frederick
Dunn and others. Created before the days of computer technology and
AutoCad programs, these beautifully executed renderings illustrate the
artistic capabilities that are still an essential component of the
architectural profession
